Background : Hepatitis B is one type of infectious disease and is classified as dangerous in the world, the number of hepatitis B sufferers in the world is estimated at 350 million, the average prevalence of hepatitis B in Indonesia is 10%, with variations between 3.4-20.3% in each area. . Chronic hepatitis B infection is found in about 90% of infants infected from birth, 25-50% of children are infected within 1-5 years. Pregnant women are a group at risk of exposure to Hepatitis B Virus (HBV) infection due to decreased T cell activity.

Methods : The research method used is descriptive, namely to find out what percentage of pregnant women are infected with hepatitis B and who do hepatitis B examination. Researchers collected data on the results of the HBsAg examination. The population of 218 pregnant women, the results of HBsAg examination using the immunochromatographic method (Rapid Test) at the RSUD. Laboratory

Results : There were 156 pregnant women who participated in the screening. The mean age of the participants was 28,55.8 years and the average age at marriage was 22.53.8 years. The prevalence of hepatitis B was 1% and 8% anti-HBs positive in HBsAg negative patients.

Conclusions : Based on the results of the study, it is hoped that it will become the basis for policies on hepatitis B prevention, for example promoting hepatitis B vaccination and hepatitis B education to the wider population.
