[EP 005] Health beneficial properties and protective effect of linarin against various form of hepatic failure: An phytotherapeutic approach

Background : Hepatic organ play an important role in the metabolism of drugs and detoxification process in the Human body. Metabolism and detoxification process need some complicated physiological process through the involvement of several enzymes in the Hepatic organs. Liver tissue damage can causes serious impairment in Hepatic system which develops severe complication in the body. Linarin is a flavone glycoside found to be present in the Chrysanthemum indicum.

Methods : Numerous literature databases have been searched to collect the needed information for hepatoprotective activity of linarin in the present investigation. Extensive literature search has been done to collect and analyze pharmacological activity of linarin in the present investigation to know the medicinal value of linarin. Literature databases for hepatoprotective activity of linarin has been searched and analyzed in the present investigation.

Results : From the analysis of the collected information from various literature sources, it was found that linarin is flavonoid glycoside and found to be present in numerous medicinal plants such as Mentha arvensis, Buddleja officinalis, Cirsium setosum, and Buddleja davidii. Literature data analysis revealed the importance of linarin in the medicine due to its anti-inflammatory, antioxidative, analgesic and hepatoprotective activity. Linarin is considered to be one of the better medicines due to their vast therapeutic application in the medicine. Literature data analysis signified their potential role in the medicine for the treatment of numerous human health complication.

Conclusions : Literature data analysis in the present investigation signified the biological importance of linarin in the medicine due to its vast pharmacological activity.
